Mezek Tomb

Mezek Tomb rewards attention to the way architecture changes as you move inward. Its long approach corridor leads through intermediate rooms to a round burial chamber: the contrast between the narrow passage and the chamber is more informative than trying to reduce the visit to a photograph at the doorway.

The Svilengrad tourism portal describes a corridor of more than twenty metres and two antechambers before the domed room. Follow the staff’s route and keep away from vulnerable surfaces. Accounts of objects found at the site do not mean that the original treasures are now exhibited inside the tomb.

Allow 30–45 minutes as an editorial estimate, provided entry is confirmed. The portal’s seasonal timetable is labelled 2025; we have not established a replacement for 2026. Use the tomb contact to confirm current opening, last admission and any limits on group size. Ask about lighting, steps and passage dimensions if enclosed spaces or mobility restrictions would affect your visit.

Do not apply the fortress’s indicative timetable to the tomb or assume one ticket covers both.
