In the 15th century there was a chapel on this place. In 1665, residential buildings were built around it. Since then the monastery has begun its existence. Later in the place of the chapel was built the Church of the Holy Virgin.
In 1877, during the Russo-Turkish War monastery complex experienced a fire, after which the complex survived only a residential building, the church and the vine, which to this day is alive and bearing fruit each year. The abbot Hristina was brutally murdered.Surrounding the church, the tap, some of the cells and the hiding place of Vasil Levski.
Church of the nunnery has an impressive architecture, dug in the ground. Temple will impress except for its rich history and picturesque preserved iconostasis and frescoes from the 17th century, called "Saints' heads."
After the liberation of our country, the monastery was restored and is currently permanently active.
