Cave "Sharenka"

Sharenka is associated with Madan's mining story rather than with a long walk through spectacular cave formations. The My Caves project presents it as an interpretation of ancient mining, using staged scenes and wax figures. Those figures help explain work underground; they are modern exhibition devices, not archaeological objects discovered in that form.

The essential planning point is access: BTS currently lists the cave as closed for repairs. No reopening date is supplied. Do not build a journey around entry until Madan's local visitor services confirm that visits have resumed. News about a completed tourism project does not, by itself, establish today's opening status.

If reopening is confirmed, allow 45–60 minutes as an editorial estimate for the interpreted cave stop, with travel and any waiting added separately. Ask what part of the exhibition is available, whether a guide is required and what the approach involves. During the listed closure, do not try to reach the interior independently or treat a closed entrance as an alternative sightseeing route.

For a wider mining-themed day, the project also introduces Madan's Crystal Hall and the Spoluka underground mine. Check each venue individually: neither shares a guaranteed timetable or access arrangement with Sharenka. Mineral specimens, a reconstructed ancient-working scene and a former mine offer different ways to understand the same region, rather than three interchangeable attractions.
