Art Gallery "Nikola Manev"

Chirpan

4.7 (6 ratings)

The Nikola Manev Art Gallery in Chirpan was created by the world-famous Bulgarian artist Nikola Manev. It is located in an old Bulgarian Revival house, built in 1867 in the upper quarter of Chirpan in a typical Plovdiv architectural style from the middle of the 19th century with symmetrically arranged interior spaces. In 2000, the artist buys the house and donates it to the municipality. At his insistence, it was restored and turned into a gallery. Upon its opening, Nikola Manev donated 20 of his most famous works, which launched its fund. Besides the permanent exhibition with works of the famous artist, a collection of crystals donated by Mr. Ilia Delev, a Bulgarian living in Brazil, is exhibited in the gallery. Periodical events are organized jointly with the Municipal Art Gallery. The main priority of the gallery is to give additional impetus to cultural life in the city and to stimulate the work of local artists.
