The Art Gallery in Dobrich was established in 1963 as a department of the local History Museum. In 1982, it was moved to the building that currently houses a former courthouse from the time of the Romanian occupation of Southern Dobrudja. The Art Gallery - Dobrich is a museum of fine arts whose activity is regulated by the Law of Cultural Heritage . The Gallery team collects, researches and stores artworks of artists from different generations, as well as materials for the history of the gallery and the development of fine arts in the city, region and country. It promotes their works in the community, offers educational programs for different ages, participates in projects and research and publishes themes on visual arts.

The Art Fund is divided into six collections based on thematic and genre principles. The total number of works included in the fund is almost 3400, of which about 400 works are included in the permanent exhibition. The permanent exhibition is located in six halls. The gallery organizes temporary expositions and other cultural events.

His educational programs for students are united around the "Workshop for imagination" project. The team prepares professional catalogs and other publications related to the Gallery fund.
