Look for the decoration beneath ground level. Hisarya's Roman tomb offers a close encounter with late-antique funerary architecture, rather than another stretch of city wall. The museum's account dates it to the fourth century and describes a geometric floor mosaic, painted niches and burial beds. Focus on the relationship between decoration and burial space instead of expecting a room full of recovered treasure.

Find the tomb, not the main museum. The operator places it southwest of the archaeological reserve, reached by a pedestrian approach south of Momina Salza spring.
