Visit at a glance
- Time & planning
- Allow 75–105 minutes as an editorial estimate for the indoor collection and park. The current visitor page lists Tuesday–Saturday opening and ends ticket sales half an hour before closing. This replaces older seasonal tables that included Sunday. Allow enough indoor time before walking the grounds; an open administration office is not an open exhibition.
- Access & seasonal notes
- Exhibition Tuesday–Saturday 10:00–18:00; ticket sales end 17:30. Sunday/Monday outside regular exhibition schedule. Administration Monday–Friday 08:30–17:00 is separate. Confirm holiday notices and booked programmes.
- Where to go
- 55 Yanush Hunyadi Boulevard, Varna.
Nearby options & next steps
Go to 55 Yanush Hunyadi Boulevard, in western Varna, and check transport for your date. The operator reports accessible approaches and wheelchair platforms at the entrance, mausoleum and museum; contact staff to confirm working equipment and the route you need. Re-enactments and craft programmes require their own event or booking check. A return to central Varna is a separate journey, not the next room of this complex.

Read the full visitor guidance and sources →Varna’s Vladislav Varnenchik park-museum combines a battlefield story with the later work of commemoration. The battle took place in 1444, but the mausoleum and monuments belong to a different period. Read the museum’s history with that distinction in mind: a symbolic memorial is not evidence that the king’s remains are buried beneath it.
The permanent exhibition brings together documents, battlefield weapons and copies supplied by other military museums. Compare how a surviving object and a later picture tell the same event differently. Armour and heraldry provide context, but do not assume every displayed piece was recovered from this particular battlefield.
