Go to the museum in the palace. The National Ethnographic Museum's visitor exhibitions are at Knyaz Alexander Battenberg Square. Do not confuse this entrance with the institute's research offices, or assume that the neighbouring National Gallery's ticket covers the ethnographic displays. Check the exhibition you want at the museum's own desk.

Choose a theme that connects past and present. The museum's programme explores Bulgarian cultural life through exhibitions and educational activities. Look for how objects, customs or stories relate to a particular community rather than using one display as a picture of every Bulgarian household. Temporary exhibitions can change the emphasis of a visit.

Allow time for interpretation. Our editorial estimate is 45–75 minutes for a chosen exhibition, longer for an arranged educational visit. Ask about the Bulgarian or English audio guide, or reserve a guided tour if discussion is important to your group. Check the accessible entrance and internal route directly with staff.

Keep museum hours separate from office hours. The visitor timetable has a Monday closure and a last-ticket cutoff. Use the current programme for exhibitions and time-limited offers.
