House of Velyan is a hallmark for the greatness, economic prosperity and spiritual aspirations of the people of Bansko. It is an image of the exquisiteness and coziness that were part of the life of our predecessors, their original taste for beauty and bond to family, and family virtues. With its unique wall paintings and woodwork this house has no other like it in the Bulgarian Renaissance Art.
House of Velyan is officially a national cultural heritage. It was built during the XVIII century and is one of the oldest house-fortresses with thick stone walls, underground hideouts, inner and outer towers, small windows with iron fences.
