Historical museum

She museum in Kavarna was established in 1971 on the basis of the local museum collection, registered in 1956. It was originally based in the community center but since 2007 it has been housed in a new building, which was built specifically for it.

Six specialized departments and one administrative are included in the structure of the Museum. Its exposition follows the history of the city from the 5th-6th centuries to 1940. It presents objects that reflect the culture of the peoples and peoples inhabiting Dobroudja. The museum also presents the largest Old Bulgarian ceramic center in Europe, discovered near the village of Topola. Here you can also see treasures of antique, Byzantine, Venetian and Western European coins illustrating the economic and political contacts of the Karvuna Principality with the Black Sea and the Mediterranean world.

The museum organizes temporary exhibitions and conducts educational and research activities. The museum maintains a permanent exhibition "Dobrudja and the Sea" and maintains two archaeological reserves - "Kaliakra" and "Yailata". The ethnographic exposition is arranged in a Revival house, located in the old part of the town.
