Art gallery "Dimitar Dobrovich"

Sliven's Dimitar Dobrovich Art Gallery occupies several buildings, so choose a collection before choosing an address. Uzunova House presents Western European prints from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries from Bogomil Rainov's donation. This is a different visit from Bulgarian painting or religious art at the gallery's other sites; one address does not represent the whole institution.

Look at the making, not just the signature. Our suggested focus is to compare two prints and read their technique labels. How does line, shading or repetition change between them? Ask staff to explain an unfamiliar term instead of assuming every print is a drawing or that every work in the collection is currently hung. A small number of carefully viewed works can make this stop worthwhile even without specialist art knowledge.

Lunch closure and winter Sundays. Uzunova has split morning and afternoon sessions, shorter weekend hours and a Monday closure. Sunday also closes in its November–April winter schedule; see the practical hours below before choosing your arrival time. Check holiday exceptions and any advance appointment. The Sirak Skitnik venue page still carries a renovation closure notice referring to 2026 without a precise reopening date: confirm its status rather than assuming it has reopened.
