Visit at a glance
- Time & planning
- Choose your indoor stops before buying tickets. The archaeological museum and interactive museum are listed separately by the Razgrad museum operator. Ask which combination is available and whether a guided introduction can help your group interpret the reserve. Our editorial estimate is 90–120 minutes for a focused museum-and-ruins visit, excluding travel; adding another exhibition needs extra time.
- Access & seasonal notes
- Archaeological museum: 1 April–30 October daily 09:30–18:00; 1 November–31 March 09:00–17:00, weekends by prior request made Monday–Thursday. Confirm 31 October and outdoor reserve access.
- Where to go
- Abritus museum and reserve, 70 Aprilsko Vastanie Boulevard, Razgrad
Nearby options & next steps
Keep the rest of Razgrad separate. The operator's ethnographic museum offers a different subject and a different town address. It can complement archaeology, but the Abritus map pin does not locate that branch. For the outdoor part, bring shoes suited to walking around remains and check conditions after rain; this desk review does not establish a step-free circuit.

Read the full visitor guidance and sources →Read a Roman town at ground level. Abritus is a better choice for understanding an excavated settlement than for seeing a complete standing fortress. Combine the archaeological remains with objects in the museum: the buildings explain where people lived, while the finds supply details that low walls alone cannot. The municipal museum overview also identifies an outdoor display of stone inscriptions.
